![]() Today, we saw how our Support Engineers fixed access denied issues in Webmin. In short, Webmin access denied error occurs when there are bad Webmin configuration settings and too many authentication failures. Once we have changed the password, it allows to log in to the Webmin without any error. By restarting Webmin, we removed all IP blocks on the server. Firstly, we checked what IP’s have been blocked by using the command. Then our Support Engineers took the following steps to solve the error.ġ. The user has been blocked because of too many authentication failures. Consequently, you may face error like Error - Access denied for X.X.X.X. If you enter more than 5 times the user ID and password in Webmin wrongly, your IP address will be blocked. Then, we added the IP address in /etc/webmin/nf file. ![]() And identified that the problem was due to the absence of IP address in /etc/webmin/nf.ģ. We checked the log file /var/log/webmin/miniserv.log and verified that the error has occurred.Ģ. To solve this issue our Support Engineers took the following steps.ġ. If the IP address is not added to the allowed list, then it can prevent you from logging into http:/yourserver:10000/ from another network or over the internet.Ĭonsequently, when a user attempt to log into http:/yourserver:10000/, errors such as Error-Access denied for X.X.X.X may occur. Webmin has a feature that only allows IP addresses specified in the Webmin configuration file. Let’s see why the error occurs and how it can be corrected.
